Ross County 1-1 Dundee

Ross County 1-1 Dundee
Irn-Bru Division One
Victoria Park, Dingwall
Sat. 17th December 2011

Ross County and Dundee both went into this game on impressive winning streaks, both of these winning streaks came to an end, but both teams kept hold of their unbeaten runs.

Dundee started the game brightly and controlled much of the possesion in the middle of the park.  But despite this possesion they rarely created chances in front of goal.  Their two best efforts being two free kicks from around 20 yards out that were both saved by Michael Fraser.

But Dundee were to take the lead on the 35th minute when former County player Stevie Milne found space on the edge of the box, he drove forward before placing the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.

But within just a couple of minutes of the goal, Dundee were reduced to ten players when Steven O'Donnell made a lunging tackle on Iain Vigurs.

This chnaged the pattern of the game, and from this point on County dominated the game, as Dundee sat back to defend their one goal lead.

The second half saw County camped int he Dundee half as well, but despite their dominance they were denied time and time again by the Dundee defence, or Rab Douglas in their goal.

But the equalising goal did come 10 minutes from time, Iain Vigurs played the ball to Colin McMenamin inside the penalty area, he drove his shot low down the middle of the goal, and while Rab Douglas did get a arm to the ball, he was unable to prevent it from crossing the line.

County were now sensing that the three points were there for the taking, and pressed forward in search of a second goal, and it looked as though they were to get it when Scott Boyd's header looked to be going in at the bottom left corner, but somehow Douglas got a cross to kick the ball off the line - a tremendous save !
